That’s me.
I feel like I stumble through life, arriving to the moment, the realization, the conclusion, always a little later than everyone else.
I’m a day late posting this weekly blog once again, which makes me disappointed in myself, but God always has a lesson for me to learn when I find myself in disappointment.
What’s the lesson?
Life may put me behind my plans but God always shows up at exactly the right time.
The Creator of the Universe is never a day late nor a dollar short. His timing isn’t what we think His timing should be, but He knows exactly what He’s doing.
How do we know?
In the book of Genesis, there are two people named Abraham and Sarah. They left their homeland and went to a land God promised He would give to them and to their descendants. The catch? They had no descendants. No little ones toddled in and out of their tent or ate them out of house and home. The years slid by, God continued to promise descendants, and yet there was nothing to show for it.
Abraham’s story begins in Genesis chapter 12, but the promised child Isaac doesn’t make an appearance until Genesis chapter 21. He does show up… but way past the time that Abraham and Sarah thought was good timing. By that time, they were old, beyond child-bearing years. Yet that made God’s power all the more evident and amazing to behold. At that point, ONLY God could have made this happen. ONLY God could bring life from bodies that were past their time.
God’s power and timing isn’t limited by our human understanding of the “right time” and “right place.” He sees outside of space and time, and isn’t bound by their limitations like we are.
God will show me the lesson when I need it. He will provide for me at the moment I need it most. The words will come when the time is right. My job is to be patient and trust the process.
It isn’t easy. But friend, you and I will make it no matter what.
Blessings,
~Lynne
