I spent about two weeks in the month of July on the road, and as I’m getting back into the rhythm of being at home, I’d like to share some of the beautiful parts of creation that we saw on our trip with you!

No summer is complete without a trip to Blackwater Falls in West Virginia, one of my favorite places! Sometimes the falls roar, sometimes they trickle, but the water constantly moves onward and this year, we walked down in the evening and experienced them at sunset and with no other people there!
Psalm 42:7 NIV:
“Deep calls to deep, in the roar of Your waterfalls; all Your waves and breakers have swept over me.”

Sunset at Lindy Point, WV, watching the fog roll through the canyon, was such an experience!

Lake Ontario at Rochester, NY. I have put my feet in all 5 of the Great Lakes, and I’m excited to now share that experience with my son. One down, four to go!

Driving through Vermont, minding our own business, and suddenly we saw this rainbow at sunset. I love seeing a rainbow, because the Bible tells us that God also sees them and every time is reminded of a covenant He made with mankind in Genesis.
Genesis 9:14-16 NIV:
“Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind of the earth.”

Old Orchard Beach, ME. Maine forever has a special place in my heart and I was really excited to return after 15 years. This was also my son’s first experience going to a proper beach at the ocean!

Portland Head Light, ME, at dusk. Breeze on my face, waves rolling on the shore… deep calls to deep! I didn’t want to leave.

We returned home to a beautiful sunset to round up the trip.
I hope you enjoyed this little snapshot of my recent travels and the experience of the beauty of creation. Our God has given us a beautiful world, and even if we only experience a little bit of it, we should drink it in, because He made it just for our enjoyment!
Blessings,
~Lynne
