Wednesday Word: Remember His Love

•

Lamentations 3:22-24 (NIV): “Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, ‘The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him.’”

Recently, I received a word from the Lord that I believe we can all benefit from. And it’s very simple.

God loves you.

He’s crazy about you, just because you’re you!

This is where we find our security and our boldness to face anything that comes our way. The love of God is the most powerful force on earth. It’s what humbled Him to come to earth as Jesus, live and walk with us, die on the cross–and most of all, love is what rolled the stone back and resurrected Him.

Often, I lose sight of this important fact. It can seem so simple, and sometimes it loses its wonder for me. However, God’s love for us is the majority of the foundation of our faith. The love of God is what makes Christianity different from other world religions–other gods would not deign to lower themselves to human standards to save humans from their brokenness. But His love for His creation drove God to create a plan all the way back at the Fall to bring redemption and reunion for Creation to Himself. That plan was Jesus, the ultimate demonstration of love.

God’s compassion never fails, and because of that great love, the worries, troubles, and struggles of life will not consume us. When we wait on the Lord and stay within His love, we will endure any and every thing that comes our way.

Bask in God’s love today. Let it warm you, fill you, and be your foundation today if you feel like you’re floundering. His mercy is new every morning, just like the sunrise. You can stand firm in His love and hold your head high.

Blessings,

~Lynne
