John 20:21 NIV:
“Again Jesus said, ‘Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
This was the verse of the day on my Bible app yesterday, and I’d like the share the following (brief) thoughts that fired through my head as I meditated on it:
God sent Jesus to seek and save the lost.
To love, heal, and reconcile.
To teach, guide, and help.
When Jesus rose from the dead, He informed His disciples that He was now sending them to do the very same things.
We are also His disciples.
Whatever sphere you operate in, you are His disciples first and foremost. Jesus’s command to His disciples extends to us: to apply to everything we do, every day.
Don’t lose sight of our Beloved’s instructions. Life will sweep you away in a tidal wave, but don’t be afraid. We have a firm foundation, even at rock bottom (read last week’s post here) and we have the Light of the world standing as a beacon to guide us.
You and I are sent. We have a commission and a purpose. Every day in every way, follow Him.
Blessings,
~Lynne
