“Even in the madness there is peace
Drowning out the voices all around me
Through all of this chaos
You are writing a symphony, a symphony”Switch, “Symphony”
This was the song playing in my head this morning when I woke up, and though I knew it was meant to be encouragement for a friend of mine who is going through a rough season, I also knew it was for me.
Life hurtles onward chaotically, and I have been struggling the past week with my “little gray cells” not connecting and working properly. I make lists but cannot seem to get the items on them done. I want to write, but just can’t put anything down. I know it’ll come together, and I’ll be all right in the end, but there are definitely struggles.
I’m tired.
And I hate chaos.
I don’t like feeling out of control or unprepared, and yet that’s exactly where I find myself right now.
My mama says, “This too shall pass,” and I do agree. I also realized that in the midst of the chaos, if I listen carefully, that maybe I’ll hear a symphony instead of just chaotic noise, because I know the Master Composer who is always working things together for my good (Rom. 8:28)–even when I don’t understand what’s going on.
Today, I hope you’ll also take some encouragement from the song at the beginning of this post, knowing that God is writing a symphony with your life–regardless of the chaos. There can be peace in the madness. There can be a symphony that will emerge out of the cacophony surrounding you, if you simply lean toward the arms of the Almighty and whisper, “I trust You.”
Hang in there, friend.
Blessings,
~Lynne
